πŸ“œ General School Rules

  • 🚫 Students are not allowed to bring any restricted items to school: weapons, knives, electronic gadgets (mobile phone, laptop, rice cooker, curry cooker, etc).
  • 🚫 Students should refrain from indulging in drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, doma etc, at all times. Abusing drugs, alcohol, tobacco products and doma shall be considered a serious offence and dealt with the highest degree of sanctions by the school administration.
  • βœ“ Students should always abide by the rules and regulations of the school.
  • βœ“ Students should respect, protect and preserve school properties (classrooms, laboratory equipment, furniture, doors, windows, lighting and fitting systems, play field, text books, notice boards, notices, etc).
  • πŸ’ No child is allowed to wear any jewelry or fancy makeup while in school.
  • πŸ“ž Parents/guardians can always contact us (Class teacher, Warden/Matron or school authorities) at our individual telephones to know the actual performance of your ward in tests/examinations, and conduct.
  • βœ… Students must meet the required standard of attendance (90%) in the school in order to qualify for writing any internal as well as external tests/examinations.
  • πŸ“š Students must work hard to meet the academic standard to enable the child to appear the promotion or board examination.
  • 🏠 Students are restricted to visit teachers' residence. They can seek guidance and special attention from teachers during school hours.
  • πŸ’° There is no scheme of refund of course fee in case of self-withdrawal or being expelled from the school on disciplinary ground during the academic session.

🏠 Rules for Boarders

The following rules are laid out for the boarders in addition to the general rules:

  • ⏰ Get up at the rising bell and tidy the bed immediately.
  • πŸͺ‘ Students should not change the individual place allotted in the dormitory, prayer hall, dining hall and study hall.
  • 🚫 Students are not permitted to go outside the school complex without permission. In case of emergency, student should obtain a pass from Principal.
  • πŸ€’ In case a student is sick, he/she should report to warden or matron and get the name recorded in sick list (and must shift to the sick room).
  • 🚫 Students are not allowed to have guests stay in the hostel.
  • πŸ’‘ The lights in the dormitories will go off at 10:30 PM immediately after night checking. Once the lights are off students should stay in bed and should not roam around.
  • 🚷 Prowling around the other hostel is a serious offence.
  • πŸ›οΈ Students are not allowed to share bed.
  • 🧹 Councilors and room in-charge are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms, corridors and surroundings.
  • 🍽️ Students should attend all meals compulsory and should sit in the individual place allotted. Students are not allowed to take meals in the hostels at all times unless sick.
  • 🏠 Students are not allowed to visit staff quarters at any time.
  • πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ Outing is once a month. Those reporting late will miss their next outing.
  • πŸ† Outing once a month for stream and class toppers and captains.

🏑 Rules for Day Scholars

In addition to the general rules laid down by the school, day scholars are expected to follow the following:

  • βœ… Attend and participate in all the school activities unless otherwise informed.
  • 🚫 Not permitted to enter hostel at any time.
  • 🚫 Not to encourage and involve with boarders in any negative activities.
  • 🏠 Students are advised to go home immediately after school activities.
  • 🚫 No loitering around as well as out of campus.
  • 🚫 Day Scholars are not allowed to go out of school campus during school hours.
  • 🍱 All day scholar students should bring their lunch (compulsory).
  • ⚠️ Any absence from school without information will result in disciplinary action and parents will be informed accordingly.
  • 🏠 Day scholar students are allowed to live in rented house on their own only after informing school authority.
  • πŸ“š If the school feels the need to retain the child for any extended learning process before or after the school hours, prior information will be served.
  • 🚌 Students changing status from boarder to day scholar need to arrange their own transportation.

βš–οΈ Discipline Policy

Depending on the severity of the violation of school rules and regulations, offenses and sanctions have been classified into three levels:

Level 1 - Minor Offence

Sanctions:

Advice, counselling, inform class teacher and mentor

Level 2 - Moderate Offence

Possible Offences:

  • Repeated level 1 offence
  • Vandalism
  • Malpractice in Exam
  • Possession of harmful weapon(s)
  • Theft, Groupism for ulterior motives
  • Fight, Bullying
  • Unhealthy relationship
  • Consuming Doma, Baba

Sanctions:

Undertaking letter from parent, written statement from child, adverse record in character certificate, session with counsellor, class teacher and mentor, social work

Level 3 - Serious Offence

Possible Offences:

  • Repeat of level 2 offence
  • Fighting (Brawl) resulting in serious injury
  • Gang fights
  • Prowling, Break in, Trespassing
  • Major theft case
  • Leaving school premise without authority's consent (Bunking)
  • Challenging authority
  • Possession of psychotropic substances, alcohol, tobacco
  • Consuming psychotropic substances, alcohol, tobacco
  • Supplying psychotropic substances, alcohol, tobacco, doma etc

Sanctions:

Undertaking letter, suspension, expulsion

⏸️ Suspension

Suspension is a temporary removal of a student from school for committing either one or more of the offenses of level 3. It shall be sanctioned for a maximum of three weeks. The period of suspension shall be treated as absent. Corrective measures such as assignment, additional works can be assigned to be supervised by parents. The child will not be accepted back until the assigned task and other requirements prescribed by the school are fulfilled.

🚫 Expulsion

Expulsion is a permanent removal of a student from school for committing more serious or repeated minor offenses and conviction of a crime. It is the last resort and can be applied after taking a series of preventive and corrective measures. The student must be issued a written order along with all disciplinary records. A student once expelled cannot attend any school in the country. The school fee will not be refunded.

πŸ“ Leave Procedure

  • πŸ€’ An application addressed to the class teacher countersigned by parent/guardian must be submitted to the class teacher if the child falls sick and is unable to come to school. Once the child recovers, he/she must produce medical report to school authority concerned in order to obtain admit chit for attending the class.
  • πŸ“… To avail leave for any other purpose, the parent/guardian must meet the school authority along with the child.
  • 🚫 Overnight leave for boarders is not permitted.
  • πŸ₯ School will take the child to hospital in case he/she is sick and depending on the condition of the child and referral from the physician, the parent/guardian will be intimated.

Takes or moves property of another person without consent. Value based sentencing
